The dashboard

Read the sales and output rings, the 30-day history charts and the task counters on the Omono dashboard, and see how targets are worked out.

The dashboard is the first screen after you sign in. It shows how sales and output compare with your targets, and what tasks need your attention.

Sales and output rings

Three cards show Today, this Month and this Financial Year. Each has two rings:

  • Sales: the value of sales orders raised in the period, less completed credit notes raised in the period, against the sales target. Orders in every status except Cancelled count, including drafts.

  • Output: the value of dispatches with a dispatch date in the period that have reached Shipped, less completed credit notes raised in the period, against the output target.

The Today and Month cards use your own time zone. The financial year comes from Settings → Company → Accounting Period. Values are in your base currency.

Reading a ring

The ring fills clockwise as a percentage of the target, with the percentage in the middle. When you reach the target the ring turns green and shows a green tick. A ring can go past 100%.

Under the ring are the value so far, the target, and an arrow with the gap. On Today the gap is to the target. On Month and Financial Year it is to the pace: the target for the working days up to and including today. A marker on the ring shows where you should be by now; it disappears once you reach the target. When you are ahead, the part of the ring beyond the pace is green. When you are behind, the gap up to the pace is red.

Report figures can differ from the rings, because Sales Timeline lets you choose which order statuses count and which credit note statuses are subtracted. See Sales reports and Output and accounts reports.

How targets are worked out

An admin sets a Sales (Daily) and an Output (Daily) target for each month in Settings → Company → Targets, one calendar year at a time; choose the year from the dropdown at the top of the form. Omono works out the Working Days in each month from your Working Week and Closed Days settings and shows the monthly total next to each daily figure.

The Targets form

The dashboard multiplies the daily figure by the working days:

  • Today uses the day figure for the current month. On a day outside your working week, or on a closed day, the target is zero.

  • Month adds the day figure for every working day in the month. The pace adds the working days up to and including today.

  • Financial Year adds the day figure of the right month for every working day in the year.

If you joined Omono part way through a month or a financial year, that first month and year count working days from the day you went live. When you register, Omono fills in 5,000 a day for sales and output for every month of last year, this year and next year. A later year has no targets and counts as zero until an admin enters them.

Sales and output history

Two bar charts show daily Sales and Output for the last 30 days, including today, worked out the same way as the Today ring. Each bar is stacked: blue up to the day's target, green for anything over it, and red for the shortfall. A day with no target shows the whole value in green. Hover over a bar to see the value and the target for that day. The axis is in thousands.

Open tasks

Three counters show Open Tasks, Overdue and Due Today. They count open tasks that you own or are assigned to. A task you created but gave to another owner, without assigning yourself, is not counted.

  • Overdue: a timed task whose due time has passed, or an all-day task dated before today.

  • Due Today: a task due at any time today, or an all-day task dated today, in your own time zone.

Click a counter to open the Tasks screen with a matching filter. Open Tasks and Overdue match the counter exactly, but Due Today switches on the Due by Today filter, which also lists overdue tasks, so that list can be longer than the counter. The counters refresh every minute. See Tasks.

If the dashboard shows zeros

The rings and charts load a moment after the page appears. If they cannot load, the rings show 0% and the charts stay empty, with no error message. Reload the page; if it keeps happening, contact us through the chat.

Things to know

  • The rings and charts do not update on their own; reload the page to see new figures.

  • The history charts always show a £ sign on the axis and in the hover text, whatever your base currency; the figures themselves are in your base currency.

  • A zero target is treated as 1. With nothing achieved the ring shows 0%, but as soon as anything is achieved it shows a very large percentage with a green tick. You see this on the Today card on a day outside your working week or on a closed day, and in any month or year whose daily target is 0.

  • When a dispatch ships, Omono sets its Dispatch Date to the invoice date, so it counts towards Output on the day it shipped, even if it was dated last week.

  • A financial year that spans two calendar years needs targets filled in for both years, or the Financial Year target is too low.

  • Sales and Output figures exclude tax, so they are lower than your invoice totals.
