Cancel a sales order

Cancel an order that has not shipped, and what to do once a dispatch has shipped.

Written by Chris Hearn

You can cancel a sales order until a dispatch has shipped and been invoiced.

  1. Open the order and click Edit.

  2. Click Cancel Sales Order.

  3. Omono warns that allocated and picked dispatches will be returned to stock. Click Cancel Order to confirm, or Cancel to go back.

The Edit Sales Order form

Every dispatch goes back to Order Review with its stock unpicked and unallocated. The order becomes Cancelled, and Omono writes a note and an Activity Feed entry. A cancelled order cannot be reopened. You can still email, download, print and Copy it, but the PDF carries no cancellation marking, so take care not to send one to the customer by mistake.

Once a dispatch has shipped

Once any dispatch has shipped and been invoiced, Cancel Sales Order is greyed out. To reverse an invoiced dispatch, raise a credit note. If the customer cancels the rest of the order, reduce it to what was delivered:

  1. Delete every dispatch that has not shipped: click its edit icon, then Delete Dispatch. If the dispatch has left Order Review, move it back first.

  2. Reduce each line's Quantity to the quantity on the shipped dispatches.

  3. Use Delete Line Item to delete every line that is no longer on any dispatch.

The order moves to Complete by itself. Write the reason in Notes.
