Raise a sales order

Create an order directly, put every line on a dispatch and email or print it to make it active.

Most orders start as a won quote. To raise an order directly, create it, put every item on a dispatch, then email or print it.

  1. Click + next to Sales Orders in the navigation bar, or click Raise SO on the customer's page. The Add New Sales Order form opens.

  2. Choose the Customer, Contacts and Delivery Address, as for a quote. Enter the Customer Order #: the customer's purchase order number.

  3. Click the tick to save. The order is created as a Draft.

  4. Click Add Line Item in the action bar to add each item.

  5. Click Add Dispatch. In the Add New Dispatch form, choose which items and quantities go in this dispatch and on what date. Create one dispatch for everything, or several for part shipments.

  6. Click Download or Print, or send the order with Email. The status changes from Draft to On Order and the dispatches appear on the Workflow board on their dispatch dates.

The Add New Sales Order form

Unless it is a call-off order, every item must be on a dispatch before the order can be sent. Preview, or closing the Email form without sending, does not activate the order. An admin can make Customer Order # mandatory in Settings → App → Sales Order Settings.

For every field on the form, editing the order, its statuses and cancelling it, see Sales orders. For dispatch dates, quantities and serial numbers, see Dispatches.
