Raise a quote proforma

Produce a proforma from a quote to ask for payment before an order exists, and set the customer’s terms so that Omono holds the goods until payment is received.

A quote proforma asks the customer to pay before an order exists. You can produce one for any quote, whatever its status.

  1. Open the quote. The proforma uses the revision you are viewing.

  2. Click Documents in the action bar.

  3. Under Documents Generated By Omono, click Proforma. Omono downloads the PDF, named PRO-SQ-1136.pdf.

  4. To email it instead, click Email, tick SQ Proforma in the attachments and send. Emailing a draft quote makes the quote active; downloading the proforma from Documents does not.

A quote proforma is not an invoice: it never gets an invoice number and never changes the quote's status.

Hold the goods until the customer has paid

The proforma on its own does not stop the order shipping. To make Omono wait for payment, the customer must be a proforma customer: open the company, click Edit and set Terms (Invoice) to 0 Days After Invoice Date. Once the quote is won, each unshipped dispatch on the order shows Proforma Awaiting Payment and has a Proforma PDF in its Documents. The dispatch cannot ship until you set it to Proforma Payment Received.

For a customer who pays on receipt but should not be held, set the terms to 1 day after the invoice date instead. For what prints and the paperwork options, see Sales quotes and Invoices and proforma invoices.
