Revise a quote

Create Revision A, B and so on on an active quote, change what you need and send it again.

Written by Chris Hearn

Use New Revision when the customer should see a revision letter and you want to keep the earlier version.

  1. Click New Revision on an active quote. The form opens with the current header details filled in.

  2. Change what you need, then click the tick. If the Chase By or Expected Award Date has passed, set a new date first; the form does not save a date in the past. Omono creates the revision, copies every line item and its bill of materials, and puts the quote back to Draft, so Won and Lost disappear.

  3. Send or print the new revision to make it active again.

The New Revision form, pre-filled with the header details of the current revision, with Customer Collection chosen in Delivery Address.

Revisions are named Original, Revision A, Revision B and so on; the quote number never changes. Chase and award tasks move to the new dates.

You can also use Edit or Add Line Item on an active quote without creating a revision. The status stays Active and the next PDF shows the new details.

For working with an earlier revision, winning, losing and copying a quote, see Sales quotes.
