Commodity Codes can be selected when creating or editing stock items and at individual line item level on sales quotes and orders, the details are then displayed on relevant paperwork. Admin users can learn how to add, edit, archive and un-archive Commodity Codes within Omono by following the simple steps below.

Adding a new Commodity Code

  1. Navigate to Settings by clicking on your name at the top right of the screen and selecting the settings option.

  2. Select App using the navigation bar on the left.

  3. Click on Commodity Codes.

  4. Enter the Commodity Code and description into the text fields at the bottom of the modal and click ✅ to save.


Editing a Commodity Code

If you would like to edit the code and/or description of an existing Commodity Code please follow these steps. Please note any changes will update all records, past and present, depending upon reasoning consider archiving and creating a new code.

  1. Navigate to Settings by clicking on your name at the top right of the screen and selecting the settings option.

  2. Select App using the navigation bar on the left.

  3. Click on Commodity Codes.

  4. Click the ✏️ icon next to the Commodity Code you wish to edit.

  5. Edit the Commodity Code and/or description in the text fields at the bottom of the modal and click ✅ to save.


Archiving a Commodity Code

Please follow these steps if you would like to archive a Commodity Code. Please note this will not remove the Commodity Code from any existing records using this option.

  1. Navigate to Settings by clicking on your name at the top right of the screen and selecting the settings option.

  2. Select App using the navigation bar on the left.

  3. Click on Commodity Codes.

  4. Click the ✏️ icon next to the Commodity Code you wish to archive.

  5. Click the 🗃 icon next to the text fields.


Un-Archiving a Commodity Code

If you would like to reinstate an archived Commodity Code please follow these steps.

  1. Navigate to Settings by clicking on your name at the top right of the screen and selecting the settings option.

  2. Select App using the navigation bar on the left.

  3. Click on Commodity Codes.

  4. Select the Show Archived tick-box.

  5. Click the 🗃 icon next to the Commodity Code you wish to re-activate.


PRO TIP: Commodity Codes can be linked to Sales Analysis Codes saving you having to select an option at stock item level. The stock item will automatically use the mapped option by default when creating sales quotes and orders. It doesn't work for every business but if you can make it work it will save you loads of time.
