A credit note reduces what a customer owes you. It is not linked to a specific invoice or order.
Click + next to Credit Notes in the navigation bar. The New Credit Note form opens.
Start typing the Customer name and pick it. You cannot change the customer after saving.
Check the Contacts. A contact is required; if the customer has only one active contact, Omono selects it for you.
Optionally enter a Reference #, for example the invoice number you are crediting. Check Raised By, which defaults to you, and the Exchange Rate for a foreign currency customer.
Click the tick to save. Omono opens the new credit note.
Click Add Line Item. Start typing the part number or title and pick the stock item. Only items with Can Sell ticked are offered.
Enter the Quantity and check the Price. It is pre-filled with the item's Sell Price, not converted to the customer's currency and with no discount or price list applied. Click the tick to save.
Click Email, Download or Print. The credit note becomes complete when the email is sent, or when you confirm the download or print.
The buttons are hidden until there is a line item. Completing cannot be undone: a complete credit note cannot be edited, deleted or cancelled, and it goes to Xero if the integration is on. Download and Print ask you to confirm first; Email does not.
For every field, editing a draft and what goes to Xero, see Credit notes.
