Raise a sales quote

Create a quote for a customer, add line items and send it, which makes it active.

A sales quote is a priced offer to a customer. The customer must already exist in Companies and be marked as a customer.

  1. Click + next to Sales Quotes in the navigation bar, or click Raise SQ on the customer's page. The Add New Sales Quote form opens.

  2. Start typing the Customer name and choose the customer. It cannot be changed later.

  3. Choose the Contacts and the Delivery Address. Click + to add a new one. The last address entry, — Customer Collection —, is for goods the customer collects.

  4. Choose the Validity and a Chase By date, which cannot be in the past. Check the Conversion Probability and Expected Award Date. Omono suggests them from your recent quotes to that customer; for a new customer they stay blank, so choose them yourself. Check the Sales Person, which defaults to you.

  5. Click the tick to save. The quote opens as a Draft.

  6. Click Add Line Item and choose a stock item by Part # or Title. A quote needs at least one line item before you can send it.

  7. Click Email to send the quote to the contact, or Download or Print to produce the PDF. Any of these moves the quote from Draft to Active; Preview does not.

The Add New Sales Quote form, with the contact and address fields greyed out until a customer is chosen.

Raising a quote locks the company's Currency.
