Create a stock item

Add a stock item, assembly or never-diminishing item with the fields Omono needs before you can quote, sell or buy it.

Written by Chris Hearn

Choose the stock type first, because an item keeps its type for life.

  1. Click + next to Stock in the navigation bar, then choose Stock for anything you buy and count, Assembly for something you build from other stock items, or Never Diminishing for services, carriage, consumables or anything you never count.

  2. Enter a unique Part #. Omono will not save an item whose part number is already in use. Letter case is ignored.

  3. Enter the Title (the short name shown on documents) and the Description (the full description printed on them).

  4. Enter the Cost Price and choose the Purchase Analysis code (not shown for an assembly), then choose the Warehouse (not shown for a never-diminishing item).

  5. Tick Can Sell to allow the item on quotes, orders and credit notes, then enter the Sell Price and choose the Sales Analysis code. An assembly can always be sold.

  6. Click the tick to save. Omono opens the new item.

The Add Stock Item form

A stock item needs Part #, Title, Warehouse, Cost Price and Purchase Analysis, plus Sell Price and Sales Analysis when Can Sell is ticked. A never-diminishing item needs the same without Warehouse. An assembly needs Part #, Title, Warehouse, Sell Price and Sales Analysis. If one is empty, the form stays open with the field outlined in red.

For every field and which fields each type has, see Stock items and stock types.
