This article explains the parts of the screen you use in every module.
The navigation bar
The dark bar on the left lists the modules: Dashboard, Companies, Sales Quotes, Sales Orders, Credit Notes, Purchasing, Workflow, Stock, Tasks and Reports. Below the divider are My Account, Settings (admins only) and Log Out.
Your name and organisation are at the top, with the Quick Search button underneath.
My Account is where you change your password and manage two-factor authentication. See Security, two-factor authentication and My Account.
Click the + next to Companies, Sales Quotes, Sales Orders, Credit Notes, Purchasing or Tasks to open a new-record form from any page. When you save, Omono opens the new record; a new task leaves you where you are. The + on Stock offers Assembly, Stock or Never Diminishing.
Click the arrow at the bottom of the bar to collapse it to icons. Hover over an icon to see its name and its + button. Omono remembers the collapsed bar in this browser.
Search screens
Clicking Companies, Sales Quotes, Sales Orders, Credit Notes, Purchasing or Stock opens its search screen. Results are cards, each showing the key facts about the record. Click a card to open it, and scroll down to load more. The figures at the top right show how many records match and, on the document screens, their total value.
The filter bar
Filter searches free text, such as a document number, company name or reference.
Status and Date Range narrow the list on the document screens. Companies has Relationship instead, and Stock has Status only. The Date Range is the date the document was created, not its invoice or delivery date.
Advanced opens more filters, such as Flag, Tag #, Salesperson, Division and Sort By. The set differs per module.
Each screen opens with default filters. Sales Quotes, Sales Orders and Purchasing show Draft and Active documents; Credit Notes shows Draft and Complete; Companies and Stock show everything that is not archived. So a sales order or purchase order drops off the default list when it becomes On Hold, Complete or Cancelled, and a quote drops off when it is Won or Lost. Widen the Status filter to see them. If you belong to a division, Division starts on it. Reset Filters returns every filter to the defaults.
Filters are remembered while you move between screens. They reset when you reload the page or sign in again.
Date ranges
A date range starts at None, which applies no date filter. Presets include Today, This Week, Last 7 Days, This Month, Last Month, This Year, This Financial Year and the financial years before it. Financial years follow the year end set in Settings → Company → Accounting Period. These pickers look back only: you cannot choose a date after today. Filters that look forward, such as Delivery Date on Purchasing and Chase By on Sales Quotes, offer Next 7 Days, Next 14 Days and Next 30 Days instead.
Choose Custom, or pick either date from the calendar, to set your own range. You cannot type a date; use the calendar.
Record pages
Opening a record shows its details at the top, then its line items, dispatches or deliveries, and related records. Some sections are collapsed under More Info; click a heading to expand it.
The action bar
The buttons beside the record number hold every action for the record, for example Add Line Item, Edit, Email, Documents, Notes, Links, Tasks, Preview, Download, Print, Copy and Delete. Buttons that do not fit sit under More. A button is hidden when it does not apply; for example Delete disappears once a document is no longer a draft.
Forms
Click the tick at the top of a form to save.
Click the cross, or press Esc, to close without saving.
Some forms let you add a related record inline, for example a new contact from the sales order form, with the + next to the field.
Dragging files
Drag files onto a record page to attach them as documents. See Notes, documents and links.
Flags
Most records can carry a coloured flag: red, yellow, green, blue or purple. Click the flag icon in the record heading and choose a colour, or No flag to remove it. Flags show on search cards, and you can filter by Flag under Advanced.
An admin gives each colour a meaning per module in Settings → App → Flags. A colour with a blank name is not offered. When every colour for a module is blank, the Flag filter disappears from that search screen.
Quick Search
Press Ctrl+Q, or click Quick Search in the navigation bar, to search across companies, contacts, quotes, sales orders, credit notes, purchase orders and stock. Type at least two characters; results appear as you type. Use the arrow keys and Enter, or click, to open a result. Press Esc to close. Ctrl+Q does nothing while a form is open.
Names and part numbers match from the start of a word: acm finds Acme Widgets, but cme does not.
Type a document number without its prefix: 1234 finds SO-1234, SQ-1234, PO-1234 and CN-1234, and 12 is enough to start. SO-1234 finds nothing. Customer order numbers, references, invoice numbers and account numbers work the same way.
Archived records are not searched. At most 50 results are shown.
Each result shows its type and a detail line, such as the Account # of a company or the company and Status of a document. Opening a contact takes you to its company page.
Finding archived records
To find an archived company or stock item, open Companies or Stock, click Advanced and tick Archived.
To bring a company back, open it, click Edit and then Un-archive Company. For a stock item, click Unarchive in the action bar.
The Activity Feed
Move your mouse to the far right edge of the screen. A tab with a clock icon slides out; click it to open the Activity Feed. It lists what everyone in your organisation has done, newest first. Click an entry to open the record.
The dropdown at the top limits the feed to Companies, Sales, Credit Notes, Purchasing, Workflow or Stock. Dispatch entries are listed under Sales and delivery entries under Purchasing; nothing is listed under Workflow at present.
The feed records:
companies created, archived, un-archived, placed On Stop or taken Off Stop, and contacts added, archived or un-archived;
documents that leave Draft, quotes won, lost or reactivated, and orders cancelled;
dispatches shipped or placed on hold, and deliveries received or placed on hold;
stars on a dispatch or delivery, and flags on any record;
stock items created, copied, archived or un-archived, stocktakes, and stock moving between In Stock and Insufficient Stock.
Edits to a record's fields and emails sent are not in the feed. Emails you send are recorded as system notes on the record, and so are a few edits, such as a change of exchange rate or of a dispatch or delivery date; see Notes, documents and links. Most other edits are not recorded anywhere. The feed shows the 50 most recent entries, and entries are deleted after 30 days.
Tables and exports
Reports and Tasks use tables. Click a column heading to sort, and again to reverse the order. In a report, hold Shift and click a second heading to sort by two columns. The Tasks table sorts by one column at a time. Use the Excel and CSV buttons in the page heading to export a report or the task list. Workflow has an Excel button only.

Screen size and staying signed in
Omono is designed for desktop and laptop browsers. Tables and forms are not optimised for phones.
If you leave Omono idle, a message asks Are you still there?; move the mouse or press a key to stay signed in. How long you can be idle, and why signing in on a second browser ends the first session, are explained in Security, two-factor authentication and My Account.
