Create a company

Add a customer or supplier with its accounts address and first contact, ready for quotes, orders and purchase orders.

Written by Chris Hearn

A company is a customer, a supplier, or both. Every quote, order, credit note and purchase order is raised against a company, so create the company first.

  1. Click + next to Companies in the navigation bar. The Add New Company form opens.

  2. Enter the Company Name. Omono will not save a name that another company already uses, even an archived one; it shows Company name already exists.

  3. Click Accounts Address and fill in the address. This is the invoice address. Click the tick to return to the company form.

  4. Click Contact and fill in the first contact. Click the tick.

  5. Enter a unique Account #.

  6. Check the Industry, Type, Country, Currency and VAT Rate. Omono fills in defaults. The currency is locked once the company has a document.

  7. Tick Customer, Supplier or both. A customer needs an Account Manager, an Invoice Bank Account, Terms (Invoice) and a Segment. A supplier needs Terms (Bill).

  8. Click the tick to save. Omono opens the new company's page.

The Add New Company form

If no bank account exists in the customer's currency, you cannot save it as a customer. An admin adds one in Settings → Company → Bank Accounts first.

For every field, the company page, putting a customer on stop and supplier quality, see Companies: customers and suppliers. To import many companies from a spreadsheet, see Importing data.
